Carve a plate workshop

Date: TBA
Duration
: 1.5 hour, 11am - 12:30pm
Cost: $65/person

Sgraffito is a decorative technique that involves scratching through a top layer to reveal a contrasting color underneath. The word "sgraffito" comes from the Italian word sgraffiare, which means "to scratch".

Explore the basics of sgraffito on a plate of your own in this hour and a half long workshop. Each partifipant will be given one pre-formed plate as well as a test piece of clay with black slip layered on top. Following an explanation of the technique and demonstration of it's properties, everyone can decorate the plate as they see fit!

Materials: white stoneware layered with black underglaze

Dimensions after firing: each plate will be approximately 11" in diameter. The size would be a great dinner plate or round charcuterie plate!

Price includes all supplies and kiln firing services.

Private lesson: Pottery wheel night! (2-4 people)

Have a group of friends who would like to throw on the wheel for a night? We would love to have you join us! Each participant will learn wheel throwing basics and create 2-5 pieces. The instructors will glaze your work after the first firing (don't worry you get to pick the color). You will be notified when they are fired and ready to be picked up.

Price includes all supplies and kiln firing services.
