November 5, Carve a sgraffito mug!

When: Thursday, November 5
Time: 6:00pm - 7:00pm
Location: 315 E Gray Street, The Standard building
Price: $50, Price includes all supplies and kiln firing services.

In this one hour workshop, each student will be given a mug to carve into with their own unique pattern, words or design. 

Color options include: 
- Terra cotta clay with white slip, which will fire to look like a white mug with red lines.
- White clay with white slip, which will fire to look like a white mug with creamy lines.

Sgraffito is a decorative technique that involves scratching through a top layer to reveal a contrasting color underneath. The word "sgraffito" comes from the Italian word sgraffiare, which means "to scratch".

The instructors will clear glaze your work after the first firing to ensure each mug is safe for use. You will be notified when they are fired and ready to be picked up!

Private lesson: Hand build a mug! (4-10 people)

Have a group of friends, colleagues, or family who would like to get together and create a one-of-a-kind mug? This event is such a fun one! Each participant will have all the supplies to create one coffee mug by hand at the table.

The instructors will glaze your work after the first firing (don't worry you get to pick the color). You will be notified when they are fired and ready to be picked up!

Price includes all supplies and kiln firing services.
