Enjoy soft, spreadable butter all the time! How does a butter bell work? After filling the base with cold water, pack the inverted “bell” with softened butter. Dunk the bell into the water, preventing any air from coming into contact with the surface of the butter, effectively preventing spoilage. Yes, you leave it out on the counter and not in the fridge.

Do you need the change the water? In cooler months you can go a few days, but I recommend changing your water every day or other day when your kitchen is warmer. We keep ours next to the sink as a visual reminder to change the water when doing dishes!
