At Hatch, we know kids are experts at play, experimentation, and exploration. Open Studio is a great time to develop a child’s creative confidence, try an art material in a new way, and play alongside old friends and new. It's a time for families to make a project together or for kids to discover a new way of creating. We want Hatch to be a neighborhood art destination, a place to build community while building with materials! 

Open Studio at Oil & Clay is the perfect time for creative family fun. 

How it works:

A new material(s) will be offered each week (such as weaving with recycled materials), in addition to some ongoing favorites (like collage or painting). We’ll give you some ideas for materials use and questions to ask your little artist, but you are welcome to sit back and watch your child do their thing! Or even better, try making art alongside your child. By modeling experimentation, curiosity, and tinkering, you are already helping to build your child’s creative confidence (and your own!). 

Rates:

Open Studio is $12.00 for up to one hour for each adult/child pair. Siblings are welcome, and the rate for each additional child is $8.00 for up to one hour. No registration is required, just stop by the studio during our open studio hours, posted on our calendar. Drop by the studio to join in. We also offer purchase a 10 hour-pass at a bulk rate. A single child open studio pass (to be used with an accompanying adult) is 100.00 (10.00 per hour for 10 hours), a two child open studio pass is 180.00 (18.00 per hour for 10 hours), and a three child pass is 240.00 (24.00 per hour for 10 hours).

 Friday 12-2 (12-5 starting December 1st), and Saturday 11-1. *We cannot accept drop ins 45 minutes before close*
